This page explains how you can apply to enter the United Kingdom as a working holidaymaker. For details of the requirements you must meet to qualify under this category, see eligibility.

You must obtain a visa to enter the United Kingdom as a working holidaymaker before you travel here. To obtain it, you should apply to the British diplomatic post in the country where you live.

You can get more information on visa requirements and applications on the visa services website or from your nearest British diplomatic post.

You can find the contact details for your nearest diplomatic post on the Foreign and Commonwealth Office website.

You will need to prove that you have enough money:

  • to pay for your journey home or onward journey to another country at the end of your stay in the United Kingdom; and
  • for your accommodation and living expenses for at least the first two months of your stay in the United Kingdom, or for at least one month if you can show that you have a job arranged in advance.
