This section explains how you can include your dependants (family members) in your application as a domestic worker. It explains who you can include as a dependant and how long they will be allowed to stay in the United Kingdom.
For someone to be eligible to be included in your application as your dependant, they must obtain entry clearance and be:
To be considered as your unmarried or same-sex partner, your partner must have been living with you in a relationship akin to marriage for the last two years. You must be intending to continue to live together in the United Kingdom, and you will need to show us that any previous marriage or similar relationship by either of you has permanently broken down.
If you have any children aged 18 or over, you cannot include them in your application. They will need to make an application in their own right. The form they should use depends on the type of application you are making.
You should read the page on the dependants' application process for details of how you and your dependants should make your applications. This depends on where you and your dependants are living at the time when you apply.
If we give someone permission to enter or stay in the United Kingdom as your dependant, they will have permission to enter and remain in the United Kingdom for the same length of time as you have. They will be able to work while they are in the United Kingdom, but their employment must not be necessary to support you or any other dependant.
If they want to, your dependants can apply for permission in their own right. If they do this, they will need to meet the requirements of the immigration categories under which they are applying. Their applications will be considered separately to yours. We cannot guarantee that all applications will be successful or that you will all be given permission to enter, remain or settle for the same length of time.
