Tier 1 (Post-study work) - closed to new applicants
Switching into the dependant route
This page explains the circumstances in which you can apply for permission to stay here as the dependant of someone who is already here in the Post-study work category (Tier 1 Post-study work) without having to leave the United Kingdom and apply for a visa.
You can only apply for permission to stay here as the dependant of a post-study worker, without having to leave the United Kingdom and apply for a visa if you are a child born in the United Kingdom to a Tier 1 (Post-study work) migrant and their dependant partner.
If you are in the United Kingdom as a dependant and wish to apply as a post-study worker, you must leave the United Kingdom and make an application for entry clearance from overseas. You are unable to switch into becoming the main applicant for this category.
