Games family member visitors
This section explains how you can to come to the UK as an 'Olympic or Paralympic Games family member visitor' (or, if you are under 18 years old, as an 'Olympic or Paralympic Games family member child visitor').
An 'Olympic or Paralympic Games family member' is a person who has been accredited for the 2012 Olympic or Paralympic Games by the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG). Games family members include athletes, umpires, technical and support staff, broadcasters, and other people associated with the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The information in this section is based on paragraphs 56R to 56W of the Immigration Rules and paragraphs 2 m) to p) of Appendix 1 of the Immigration Rules, which came into effect on 30 March 2012.
If you meet the requirements to be an Olympic or Paralympic Games family member visitor or an Olympic or Paralympic Games family member child visitor, you can seek permission to enter or remain in the UK without a visa between 30 March 2012 and 8 November 2012 only.
You can visit the UK in these categories for a maximum of 6 months, but your visit must end on or before 8 November 2012.
If you want to come to the UK before 30 March 2012 for a reason related to the Olympic or Paralympic Games, you should apply for an Olympic/Paralympic visit visa.
