Tuberculosis (TB) clearance certificates required for student visa applications made in India from 1 November 2012

29 October 2012

Student visa applications made in India from 1 November 2012 must be accompanied by a valid tuberculosis (TB) clearance certificate for visas longer than 6 months. You do not need a TB clearance certificate if you are coming to the UK on a 6 month student visitor visa.

The TB screening requirement was first announced on this wesite in August 2012 and the start date for students was set after the main recruitment period for UK higher education institutions ended.

We will only accept TB screening and certificates from a clinic approved by us in India. Please see our list of approved clinics and the applying for a visa page for more information.
