Three charged with immigration offences

A Polish man, a Chinese woman and her son appeared at Laganside magistrates court on 23 February 2012 charged with immigration offences.

Tadeusz Juscik, 60, who lives on the Antrim Road in Belfast, was charged with assisting the unlawful immigration of Xiu Hua Wei who he married in a suspected sham marriage ceremony in 2007.

Wei, 49, who lives in South Belfast and her 18-year-old son, Zhuo Wang were each charged with obtaining leave to remain in the UK by deception and Wei was further charged with assisting the unlawful immigration of her son.

All 3 were remanded in custody to re-appear at Laganside magistrates court in March 2012.

Earl Aiken, senior investigator for UK Border Agency in Northern Ireland said:

'We will investigate any instances where we believe immigration offences are being committed and bring our case before the courts.'
