Changes to our UK visa service in Fiji from 5 March 2012
17 February 2012
From March 5, all visa applications must be completed online. At the same time, you will need to make an online appointment to attend the visa application centre, at the British High Commission in Suva. You will then need to submit your application and provide biometric information.
We will also move the processing of visa applications to our UK visa application centre in Manila, the Philippines.
You will need to pay an additional fee of $28 (Fiji dollars). This fee is to meet the cost of sending the application to the visa application centre in Manila for processing and returning the passport to the British High Commission in Suva for collection.
This change will not affect our visa processing times.
Ed Mackie, regional manager for East Asia & Australasia, UK Border Agency, said:
'These changes are part of a wider move by the UK Border Agency to streamline and improve the application and decision-making process for customers in Fiji, and across Asia Pacific.
'The UK visa hub in Manila currently processes applications for 10 other countries and the vast majorities are returned to the applicant within our 15 day customer service standard. We expect to be delivering the same level of service to our Fiji customers.'
