Migration Advisory Committee report: Identifying occupations where migration can sensibly help to fill skilled labour shortages
In February 2008, the newly formed Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) published an interim report explaining how it intended to determine which occupations should be on the shortage occupation list for Tier 2 of the points-based system. It also sought stakeholders' views on the proposed methodology and invited them to submit evidence about occupations that they believed should be included on the list.
The MAC subsequently published its first shortage occupation list in September 2008.
