This page explains the duties you have as a sponsor under the tier 5 - charity worker category of the points-based system.
Your sponsor duties when assigning a certificate of sponsorship
When you assign a certificate of sponsorship, you guarantee that the migrant:
- intends to do voluntary work directly related to the purpose of your charity sponsoring them;
- will not be paid or receive other remuneration for their work (with the exception of reasonable expenses outlined in section 44 of the National Minimum Wage Act which you can find a link to on the right side of this page);
- will not take up a permanent position; and
- will comply with the conditions of their permission to stay and leave the United Kingdom when it expires.

This is a virtual document (a unique reference number) that an organisation gives to migrants they want to employ, and that the migrant uses when applying.under the points-based system for coming to the United Kingdom to work, train or study. Also known as confirmation of acceptance for studies.
