This page explains what you should do to apply to employ migrants in Tier 2 (General) - skilled worker under the points-based system.

Only sponsors applying for a licence for Tier 2 (General) - skilled worker and/or Tier 2 - intra-company transfers can apply to go on the register now.
We are not taking applications for Tier 2 - sports people, Tier 2 - ministers of religion, or tiers 3, 4 or 5 at the moment. We will let you know before each tier registration opens.
Tier 2 (General) - skilled worker is for skilled workers with a job offer to come in to fill gaps in the United Kingdom labour force. When Tier 2 (General) - skilled worker goes live, it will replace the current work permit route.
We begin accepting applications from migrants in Tier 2 (General) - skilled worker and/or Tier 2 - intra-company transfers in the autumn of 2008. If you want to bring in migrants to work before this date, you should use the existing work permit routes. See the section on work permit arrangements for more details.

You must send in the documentation needed to establish you are a legitimate employer based in the United Kingdom, trading in the United Kingdom, and showing you have a genuine vacancy.
