Biometric enrolment at selected post offices
Postal applicants living within certain postcodes can now enrol their biometrics at a limited number of Crown post offices nationwide. This is a walk-in service, with no need to book an appointment, but you can only use the service if you have been sent a letter inviting you to do so.
You must bring the back page of the letter (which includes your case reference number, full name and date of birth) with you when you attend the Post Office Ltd branch. If you fail to bring the back page of this letter with you, Post Office Ltd will not be able to proceed with your enrolment.

If you enrol at a post office on or before the 5 September 2010, you will be charged an additional handling fee of £8.00 payable to Post Office Ltd. If you enrol at a post office on or after the 6 September 2010 you will be charged a handing fee of £15.86. Payment to Post Office Ltd can be made by cash or debit card. Please note that there may be a queue for this service.
