Public enquiry offices


Our public enquiry offices offer a premium same-day service for non-EEA nationals who are making straightforward applications to extend their stay or settle in the United Kingdom.

There are seven offices around the United Kingdom. Please note that not all public enquiry offices can process all types of application. For more information about your nearest office, see the contact details below.



  • Croydon public enquiry office

    Facilities:

    • coffee shop selling hot and cold drinks and snacks
    • vending machines selling hot and cold drinks and snacks
    • photograph booths (but please bring photographs with you as specified for your type of application)
    • male and female mulit-denominational prayer rooms
    • unisex baby changing room (but we do not have facilities for children, who must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times)
    • public pay phones

    Facilities for disabled customers:

    • induction loops at all desks
    • lifts
    • accessible toilets
    • parking for disabled badge holders in the public car park across the road next to the Whitgift Centre (ask about this when you phone to make your appointment)

    How to find Croydon public enquiry office

    By train

    There are trains to East Croydon from London Victoria and London Bridge. Change at Clapham Junction for connections to London Waterloo from East Croydon and West Croydon. Both stations are in Travelcard zone 5.

    By bus

    There are buses to Croydon from many locations including Brixton, Bromley, Crystal Palace, Heathrow, Streatham and Tottenham Court Road.

    By tram

    Tramlink is a light railway linking Croydon with Wimbledon, Beckenham and New Addington.

  • Sheffield public enquiry office

    Facilities:

    • vending machines selling cold drinks and snacks
    • public pay phones
    • 2 private reflection and multi-faith rooms
    • unisex baby changing room (children must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times, as there are no creche facilities)
    • photo booth (but please bring photos as specified for your application type)

    How to find Sheffield public enquiry office

    By train

    To the main Sheffield city station. Vulcan House is approximately 15 minutes' walk from the station. There is a taxi rank outside the station. 

    Parking

    The nearest municipal car parks are identified on the map. Please ensure that you arrive in time to find an alternate space if your selected car park is full.

    How to find Belfast public enquiry office

    By bus

    The nearest bus stop is at Forestside shopping centre, a one-minute walk from the public enquiry office. The following bus services to and from Belfast city centre call at Forestside:

    By car

    There is no public car parking at the public enquiry office, so we recommend that you use public transport or arrange to be dropped off at the office.

    The nearest airport to the office is Belfast City George Best Airport (approximately six miles away). Belfast International Airport is approximately 22 miles from the office.

    Opening Hours:  By appointment only. Appointments are normally available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 0900 to 1600. Belfast PEO is currently enrolling postal applicants only - a premium application service is expected to be available later this year.

  • Cardiff public enquiry office

    Facilities:

    • Induction Loops at caseworking counters
    • Disabled access to building and toilets.
    • Vending Machines selling cold drinks and snacks
    • Unisex baby changing room (children must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times, as there are no creche facilities)

    Note:

    To minimise queuing and due to limited seating in our waiting area we ask that you do not bring unneccesary baggage into the office. At peak times non dependant adults who do not need to accompany you into the building may be refused entry.

    Our Cardiff offices will not offer a same day service for any premium applications.  Non biometric application types with appointment times before 1200 will have their updated travel document returned within 5 days by post.
