How do I sponsor a migrant worker?
What is the sponsorship management system?
This page explains what the sponsorship management system is, who can use it and what it can be used for.
What is the sponsorship management system?
The sponsorship management system is a secure IT system which enables licensed sponsors to bring migrants to the UK and manage them.
If you want to sponsor a migrant worker under Tier 2 or Tier 5, you must use the system to assign a certificate of sponsorship to the migrant .
To get access to the system, you must be a licensed sponsor. When we confirm your sponsor licence, we will send your login information at the same time. If you are a licensed sponsor and do not yet have access to the system, you should contact our sponsorship and employers' helpline - the contact details are on the right of this page.
We are able to access and view all the information you input to the system.
Who can use the sponsorship management system?
Only licensed sponsors have access to the sponsorship management system.
There will be different levels of users within your organisation.
When you apply for your sponsor licence, you must give the name and details of your 'level 1 user'. When your organisation accesses the system for the first time, your level 1 user will need to enter their details. They will then be able to add further level 1 and level 2 users in the system.
All users will need access to the internet and an email address. You must also have Adobe Acrobat Reader to view payment notes.
What should I use the sponsorship management system for?
You should use the system to:
- manage your users and change your organisation details;
- view all your certificates of sponsorship;
- create and assign certificates of sponsorship;
- comply with sponsorship duties such as reporting migrant activity and withdrawing certificates of sponsorship; and
- pay for certificates of sponsorship.
