West Berkshire District Council was keen to access the sponsorship management system on the first day that Tiers 2 and 5 of the points-based system went live, to make sure that the system of users was established in good time.

Lucy Semmens was the first user to access the system for the council. 'When I accessed the sponsorship management system, I found it easy to understand and navigate,' she says. 'I used the system to set up new users, and I was able to refer to our internal database to find all of the information required.'

The council expects to nominate approximately seven level 1 and 2 users, to ensure effective management of their recruited migrants.

'We found the e-learning CD very useful, and will be using this internally to train other users on how to successfully access and manage the sponsorship management system,' says Lucy.
