This page tells you how you can find what you are looking for using Search, Advanced search, and the A to Z index.
To search for a specific page, type a few descriptive words in the search box and press the Enter key or click on the search button. The results of the search will be displayed as a list of page titles and descriptions that will help you choose the page most relevant to you.
If you are looking for a specific document you may want to use the Advanced search.
The Advanced search allows you to search only certain types of content, for example you can ask it to search only news articles or reports by ticking the corresponding boxes. You can also select the date range if you are looking for content added or updated up to the last 30 days or you can select your own date range.
You can find a link to the Advanced search on the top right of the website.
If you know what application form you are looking for, you can search for it using the Advanced search. You can find links to the Advanced search for forms on the left side of each page. Make sure that the box 'Application Forms and Guidance Notes' is checked. On the search box, type the words or phrase that describes the form you are looking for.
We strongly recommend that you read the section of our website that is relevant to the application you wish to make. You can use the navigation on the left to find more information on how to apply to live, work or study in the United Kingdom.
You can also find information quickly using the A to Z index. The index lists several topics or sections in alphabetical order. You can find a link to the A to Z on the top right of the website.
