How much does the premium service cost?
This page lists the fees that you must pay to make an application using our premium service at a public enquiry office in the UK.
The application fee depends on the type of application you make. It is higher than the fee for making the same application by post. The fee is for consideration of your application - it does not guarantee that your application will be approved. You can find details of individual fees and how you can pay them below.
We will not refund your fee if we refuse your application or you withdraw it, so you should ensure that:
- you meet the requirements for your type of application (described in the relevant sections of this website); and
- you bring all the required documents to your appointment at the public enquiry office - see Before you arrive for more information.
For some types of application, you can include your dependants - your husband, wife, civil partner, unmarried partner or same-sex partner, and any dependent children under 18 - on your application form. For other types of application, you cannot include any dependants on your application form. You should check the relevant section of this website for information about your application type.
If you cannot include dependants on your application form, or if your dependant applies separately (at a different time or on another form), they must pay the appropriate fee.
How to pay your fee
If you submit your application online under Tier 2 or Tier 5, or using interactive forms SET(O), SET(M), FLR(O), FLR(M) or NTL, you must pay for your application online. You must make your online payment at least 48 hours before your appointment. When we have processed your payment, we will notify you electronically. This notification will include your unique payment reference number, which you must bring to your appointment with your supporting documents and your signed application form or cover sheet.
For applications submitted on a paper application form, you can pay at the public enquiry office on the day of your appointment. You should complete the 'Payment details' section of your application form.
At our Belfast, Croydon, Liverpool, Sheffield and Solihull public enquiry offices, you can pay by credit or debit card, postal order or banker's draft.
At our Cardiff and Glasgow public enquiry offices, you can only pay by credit or debit card. Alternatively, you can pay by post at least 6 working days before your appointment using a banker's draft, postal order, or credit or debit card. To make your payment by post:
- complete the relevant payment form(s) for your application(s), ensuring that you tick the relevant box for the public enquiry office that you are due to attend - you can download the payment forms from the right side of this page; and
- send the form(s) with your payment to the address shown on each form. Do not send your application form and supporting documents with your payment - you should bring these to your appointment.
When we have processed your postal payment, we will send you an acknowledgement letter containing a unique payment reference number. You must bring this letter when you attend the Glasgow or Cardiff public enquiry office for your appointment, as proof that you have paid your application fee in advance.
If you cannot proceed with your premium service application after you have paid in advance, please phone our immigration enquiry bureau to arrange a refund. It can take up to 4 weeks for the refund to be made.
