Booking an appointment for our premium same-day service
This page explains how you can book an appointment to make an 'premium application' in person at one of our 7 public enquiry offices in the UK. You can book an appointment online or by phone.
Before you book, you should:
- note that you will need to pay a higher application fee in order to apply in person - the How much does it cost? page contains more information; and
- read all the information on this website about your type of immigration application, and the relevant guidance notes; and
- check whether you can make your type of application in person - see the What services are available? page.
You should only book 1 appointment, for the date and time that you need. If you cannot attend the appointment that you have booked, you must contact us to cancel the appointment and book a new appointment - see below.
You should not book a family appointment for a group of unrelated people. Family appointments are only for people who are applying as a family unit under 1 application. Groups of students or employees making separate applications must not book a family appointment, even if they are living at the same address. They must book separate individual appointments. If a group of unrelated people book and attend a family appointment, they will be told to re-book their appointments separately.
Appointments at Glasgow and Cardiff public enquiry offices
If you want to pay for your application on the day of your appointment at the Cardiff or Glasgow public enquiry office, you must do so by credit or debit card. You should complete the 'Payment details' section of your application form.
Alternatively, you can pay at least 6 working days before your appointment by banker's draft, postal order, or credit or debit card. You cannot pay by cash. To make your payment, you should complete the relevant payment form(s) for your application(s), and send the form(s) with your payment to the address shown on each form. You can download the payment forms from the right side of this page.
If you send your payment in advance, you should not include your application form and supporting documents. Instead, you should bring these to your appointment.
When you complete the payment form, please ensure that you tick the relevant box for the public enquiry office that you are due to attend.
When we have processed your payment, we will send you an acknowledgement letter containing a unique payment reference number. You must bring this letter when you attend the Glasgow or Cardiff public enquiry office for your appointment, as proof that you have paid for your application in advance.
Payment arrangements at other public enquiry offices are not affected.
If you are applying online using forms SET(O), SET(M), FLR(O), FLR(M) or NTL, you will pay for your application online as part of the application process. You must apply and make your payment online at least 48 hours before your appointment. We will notify you electronically when we have processed your payment; this notification will include your unique payment reference number, which you must bring to your appointment with your signed application form and supporting documents.
If you pay for your premium application in advance (online or by post) and you need to reschedule your appointment, please phone 0870 606 7766.
If you are unable to proceed with your premium service appointment at all after you have paid in advance, please phone our immigration enquiry bureau to arrange a refund. It can take up to 4 weeks for the refund to be made.
Online booking
Online booking is a fast, simple and convenient way of securing an appointment, allowing you to book when it suits you.
The online booking service can be used by individuals and by family groups of up to 11 people who are applying together. You can securely:
- search for an appointment by date, time, location and application type;
- request and confirm an appointment slot;
- receive a request confirmation;
- view and print your appointment booking after it has been confirmed; and
- reschedule or cancel your appointment.
Bookings must only be made in the name of the person who will attend the appointment. Where a booking is made on behalf of another person, the name of the person who will attend the appointment must be provided. Once booked, an appointment cannot be transferred to a different person.
The appointment will only be held with the person named to attend the appointment. Any appointment that is not attended by the person in whose name the booking was made will not be honoured.
Speculative appointments must not be made. You should only make an appointment when you know that you, or the individual that you represent, can and will attend the appointment. Appointments will be cancelled when an attempt to change the name on the booking is made or if a different person arrives at the appointment.
Under no circumstances should anyone offer a confirmed appointment for sale. Any organisation or individual found doing so, will immediately be prevented from using the service and will potentially face action if any wrongdoing is involved.
You can find a link to the online booking service on the right side of this page.
Before you can book an appointment, you will need to register to use the service by creating a customer account. You will need a valid email address to create an account. You will then be sent password details, which will allow you to access your account and book your appointment.
You must provide a valid telephone number and e-mail address in case we need to contact you.
If you need to change any details on an appointment you should do so through your personal account.
